The SLS Artemis II is the first crewed mission of the Artemis program, which will use NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) rocket to send an Orion spacecraft with astronauts around the Moon. This 10-day mission is a crucial test for the SLS and the Orion spacecraft, and represents the first crewed journey to the Moon since 1972.

It will be the first time humans have traveled on the Orion spacecraft and the first crewed flight to the vicinity of the Moon since the Apollo 17 mission in 1972.

The planned launch date is February 5, 2026.

Crew: It will consist of four astronauts: Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch of NASA, and Jeremy Hansen of the Canadian Space Agency.
